Earlier this year we opened our first Scottish office, based in Glasgow, in response to the continued growth of our client base throughout Scotland.
The Glasgow office is headed up by Matthew Walker. Matthew has worked for Executive Compass since 2014 as a bid writer and GM of the Newcastle office, and delivers all our training courses. Matthew works closely with a few of our key clients in Scotland to focus on their must-win bids and business strategy, as well as delivering and growing the training side of Executive Compass.
Bidding in Scotland
Our presence in Scotland allows us to keep up to date with all legislation, procurement bodies and Scottish best practice, which is vital to help companies in Scotland to secure more contracts. We are also experienced in using the Public Contracts Scotland and Scotland Excel tendering portals and their processes, which can sometimes be difficult to navigate. This allows us to provide advice and support to the client at any stage of the bidding process.
Contracting authorities we regularly bid into in Scotland include:
- Aberdeen City Council
- Dumfries and Galloway Council
- East Ayrshire Council
- Falkirk Council
- Scottish Borders Council
- West Dunbartonshire Council
- South Lanarkshire Council
- City of Edinburgh Council
- Glasgow City Council
- The University of Edinburgh
- University of Glasgow
- NHS in Scotland
How the process works
Our bid writing process is standard across the board, and there are steps in place to ensure your bid submission is of the highest quality and ultimately marked as successful.
First of all, Matthew will meet new Scottish clients to build the relationship and understand their current issues and requirements – whether this is bid writing support, reviews or training.
Once there is an individual tender that the client requires support with, we assess the bid documents to provide a bespoke quotation. One of our bid writers would then work with the client to source information and create quality responses for the tender – this then goes through our quality assurance process and is proof read. Constant communication between the client and our team is in place throughout the bid lifecycle to ensure the submission is as strong as possible, and that all vital information and win themes are included.
If the client is interested in training, Matthew would then discuss their requirements and an objective for the workshop to create a bespoke agenda for the organisation.
