I’ve been working at Executive Compass® for just over a month now, having only returned to the UK a mere two months ago. Before entering the world of bids and tenders, I lived and worked in Australia for a year – a somewhat different lifestyle and climate! I have taken over from Adam, who is transferring roles to content manager and is now based in Canada. My role is managing our marketing efforts, as well as aspects of admin and sales.
Learning the Ropes
My first month has been rather fast paced. As well as getting to grips with all of my new duties, I also had the opportunity to accompany Neil to PQQ and bid writing training in Wales and to represent Executive Compass® at this year’s Business Show at the London ExCel. Neil, John and I spent two days discussing bids and tenders with professionals and members of the public; which was a fantastic opportunity for me to learn more about the various aspects of tendering and the procurement process. It was particularly interesting for me to discover just how unique tenders can be: in the past Executive Compass® has even worked on a tender for a dog walking contract! All of this has led to me feeling a lot more confident when talking to clients about our services and exactly how we can assist in winning more contracts.
So far I have been developing our marketing strategy for the coming financial year in line with the company’s planned growth and assessing how we can move forward marketing the Executive Compass® brand.
The Future
Leading on from a positive start within the company, I am keen to learn more from the team and develop my knowledge of the bid and tender market. I am looking forward to organising Executive Compass’® next exhibition later this year and getting properly stuck into my role as marketing manager. I have joined the company in its fifth year and during a great period of success, so it should be interesting to see where this leads us in the coming years.
