Local councils completed over 700,000 jobs relating to all forms of pests, from rats to cockroaches, across the UK over the past year, but it has come to light that they are not legally obliged to continue to provide the service.
This has made the service a strong candidate for being subject to further reductions as councils begin to attempt to absorb 28% cuts in their funding from central government over four years. If this is the case, the next few years may prove a challenging time for pest control companies that rely on councils putting pest control services out to tender as a source of revenue.
As the pest control services “pool” shrinks, it will make writing a winning tender for these services all the more challenging. Cuts of this nature and size will inevitably cause the entire industry to become more competitive, so when a tender is released, the volumes of companies requesting to participate and completing the PQQ will more than likely increase. This may be cause for concern, as pest control companies will now have to produce a much stronger tender or PQQ in order to be in with a chance of being awarded the contract.
This is where we can help; we are experts at providing strong written narrative responses to questions asked in PQQs and ITTs issued by local authorities and councils. We have successfully completed pest control tenders in the past, and with our industry experience we will be able to guide you through every step of the tendering process. The processes we have in place will allow you to be confident in the knowledge that your PQQ will not just get you through to the ITT stage, but will also have already put you in the best possible position when it comes to competing in the next stage and returning the completed ITT.
We understand that companies can be wary of entrusting an external provider with completing a document that may ultimately affect their future business activities, especially at a time when you are focusing on potentially losing your public sector revenue stream. When it comes to completing the ITT for you, we are able to ease your concerns by offering to absorb some of the risk ourselves: we can offer a “split-risk” fee where you will retain 30% of our total costs until you are notified by the council that you have been successful and you will be awarded the contract.
Please do contact us today if you are interested in how we can help you continue to compete in the public sector .
